My lifelong dream

As a little girl, I grew up doing chores on our small farm and learning to cook at my grandmother’s side. My childhood dream of becoming a nurse solidified as a teen as I watched her, and my uncle pass away from terrible diseases.

As an R.N., I worked in cardiac care, post-op recovery rooms, ER's and surgi-centers, where I saw the miracle of modern medicine daily. In more than two decades, however, I saw a decline in patient health. Over time the accelerated practice of medicine made truly caring for patients more difficult.

my turning point

At 40, my body fell apart as toxic chemicals off-gassing from the new carpet in my home overwhelmed my body’s systems. Struggling to deal with it and regain my health, I applied everything I knew and turned to the smartest doctors I’d ever worked with.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
— Philippians 4:13 (WEB)

But I found no answers, no explanations, and only pills to alleviate my symptoms. It became clear that I was going to have to heal myself. Western medicine was no help.

I soon realized that the solution lay in some of the earliest lessons I learned as a child. I went back to the basics ... whole foods, cooked at home, no more processed foods, eating and living Organic (before it was cool or easy to do).

I began a journey into the world of ancient medical practices including holistic nutrition, herbalism and homeopathy. With this newfound knowledge, my body was not only restored, but my health renewed to a level I hadn’t experienced since childhood.

Out of this realization of Western medicine's limits has come Sophoz Wellness and its mission to help clients like you to know your body and heal holistically.
